How to install an untra frame swimming pool ?

Much more affordable than an in-ground model, the above-ground swimming pool makes mounting within the reach of any handyman. The most important is the location of the latter. Once found, you have to discover a few simple tips that will allow you to install your above ground pool in the best possible way. Here they are !

Choose the location

The first step in installing an above ground swimming pool is deciding where to place it. Indeed, it is important that it be put in a sunny place close to the house and away from leafy trees. To reassure yourself of your choice, you can draw the contours of your swimming pool using a garden hose to assess its exposure to the sun.

In choosing your location, you should also check the stability of the ground. The latter must be level and able to withstand the load of the large volume of water represented by a swimming pool. However, when it comes to national restrictions, you will need to comply with the law.

The law governing the installation of an above ground swimming pool in France is very simple. If your basin is permanently installed on a basin area of less than 20 m², with a wall height of fewer than 1 m and whose distance from the property lines is 3 m, is not subject to a declaration. On the other hand, if your future swimming pool exceeds one of these three criteria, it will have to be submitted to a declaration to the town hall.

Having said that, you should also know that for an above ground swimming pool, you do not need to provide a security and protection fence if the water does not come up to the height of a terrace. However, it would be a good idea to remove the access ladder once you are not there to monitor.

Start the installation

For the realization of your above ground swimming pool, you will need certain elements. Usually, these are:

  • a garden hose
  • an above ground swimming pool kit with its adapted filtration unit
  • a roll of teflon

Some materials (bit, hacksaw, miter box, ruler, martyrdom wedge, spirit level, vicious drill, screwdriver, mallet, pliers with wood jam, cutter and glove).

For a small swimming pool, the realization of a concrete slab is not essential. We can make do with a layer of sand mixed with cement at the bottom of the basin. For five doses of sand, you can add one dose of cement per 1 cm of thickness. However, for a larger pool, a concrete slab is strongly recommended.

For the filtration system, the skier must be placed facing the prevailing wind for better evacuation of suspended particles. The pool drainage system also needs an electrical connection at the pump. You must place it in a box next to the pool and lock it. The standard imposes a minimum distance of 3.5 meters between the pump and the basin.

It is therefore sometimes useful to make a small sketch of its future installation. The latter must contain the plan of the location of the swimming pool, the technical room and the arrival route of the underground power line.

When you purchase your kit, you will receive a notice. You must strictly adhere to the use and safety instructions therein.
